School of Applied Sciences

UNIVERSITY OF CAMPINAS

The School of Applied Sciences (Faculdade de Ciências Aplicadas - FCA), located at Unicamp Campus II, in the city of Limeira- State of São Paulo, develops an innovative pedagogical project that values interdisciplinarity and teaching-research-extension integration.

Founded in 2009, with undergraduate courses in all areas of knowledge, the College of Applied Sciences understands that knowledge has to be comprehended interconnected with other capabilities, in order to broadly develop the student’s potential. FCA expands Unicamp’s academic excellence by means of an innovative pedagogical project that strengthens interdisciplinarity, graduating high-level professionals and with creative capacity.

The FCA offers six different undergraduate degrees and six graduate degrees. The undergraduate programs also offer a core with contextualizing disciplines and approaching universal knowledge. Our graduate programs empower students to act and lead in advanced research and to act in teaching at a higher level.

We mobilize the qualification and experience of our teaching staff for producing knowledge (Research) with the ability to intervene, manage and plan changes and innovations for the public and private sectors. There is a commitment to disseminating knowledge produced for the benefit of society in different action forms (Extension and Outreach).

With 485k m² area and approximately 30k m² constructed area, the campus was strategically installed in the city of Limeira, which fast growing economy is based on industrial production and commerce, at the national and international scenario. Located in the State of São Paulo country area, the city is close to major scientific, cultural and economic hubs, such as the cities of Campinas, Piracicaba and São Paulo, just 65 km distant from Viracopos International Airport.
